What's the difference between TenantAlert Express and TenantAlert Direct?
TenantAlert Express allows you to instantly receive a tenant screening report and receive results in seconds. It also allows includes a free credit report with each package once you're underwritten and approved.
TenantAlert Direct allows you to instantly receive a tenant screening report after the prospective tenant has approved you. With TenantAlert Direct there is no underwriting required and we can bill the prospective tenant, providing you with free tenant screening reports.
How long does it take to receive a TenantAlert Express report?
TenantAlert Express reports are viewable immediately after ordering. Additionally, a free credit report is included for all customers who have completed the underwriting process. If you have not completed the underwriting process, please allow 1-3 business days for approval. Upon approval credit reports will be available immediately. You can also access credit reports immediately, with no underwriting required, by ordering a TenantAlert Direct report.
How long does it take to receive a TenantAlert Direct report?
TenantAlert Direct reports require the prospective tenant's authorization to release credit information. The report is released to you as soon as the tenant confirms you are authorized to view their TenantAlert Direct report. If you need a report immediately and cannot wait for the tenant to respond, order a TenantAlert Express report.
Free credit reports? There must be a catch!
There's no catch. TenantAlert offers 2 ways to obtain free credit reports
When ordering TenantAlert Express, you'll receive a free credit report if you're underwritten. Not underwritten yet? No problem. Just order your TenantAlert Express report and click on the "Unlock Credit Report" button. We'll walk you through the underwriting process and once approved, provide you with a free credit report on the applicant.
When ordering TenantAlert Direct you have the choice of having us bill the prospective tenant for the credit report. We bill the applicant and you receive a 100% free report!
Do I need written authorization from the prospective tenant to run a tenant screening report?
It depends. If you order TenantAlert Direct, no authorization is required. The prospective tenant is contacted by TenantAlert.com and provides their authorization through our exclusive online application process. If you order TenantAlert Express, prior authorization from the applicant is required and must be kept in your files.
Generally, an authorization for release of information is provided on most rental applications. Rental applications can be found through a local or national apartment association, such as the American Apartment Owners Association.
What methods of payment do you accept?
TenantAlert.com currently accepts VISA, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. All credit cards are processed through Authorize.Net. Click the logo at the bottom of the page to see we are an Authorize.Net Verified Merchant.
Why does the underwriting process require documentation and an onsite inspection?
The credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion) require an underwriting process and an onsite inspection due to the sensitive nature of the information provided in each tenant screening report. These procedures are in place to prevent any fraudulent activity and to ensure the information being requested is being used for the proper permissible purpose.
Does TenantAlert.com share any of my information with 3rd parties?
No. TenantAlert.com will never share or sell your personal information with any 3rd party. The only communications you will receive will be directly from TenantAlert.com.
How do I know I can trust TenantAlert.com with all of this sensitive information?
There are many ways to see TenantAlert.com is safe and secure. If you're using Internet Explorer, you will see a lock icon in the Security Status bar. The Security Status bar is located on the right side of the Address bar. If you're using Safari, a lock icon will appear in the upper right corner of the Safari window. If you scroll to the bottom of the page you will find logos for Authorize.Net and NAPBS. Authorize.Net provides a click to verify link. Lastly, we are members of the National Association of Professional Background Screeners. NAPBS also has requirements to remain a member and guidelines that must be followed.
